Don't Wait to Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet

Last year, Alexandrians safely disposed of more than 2,600 pounds of unwanted and potentially dangerous medications. Rather than wait for a Drug Take Back day, many used permanent drop boxes located at Police Headquarters, Inova Alexandria Hospital and The Neighborhood Pharmacy. ASO partners with The Neighborhood Pharmacy and picked up 100 pounds there last month alone. Learn more about how you can safely dispose of unneeded prescription medications.

Rive Renew Pendleton Street Construction

RiverRenew crews are getting ready to connect into Outfall 001 to support a healthier Potomac River! 

Since 2019, the expansion of the Pendleton Steet site construction footprint has been planned and coordinated with the community and City of Alexandria.  Until now construction activities have been east of Union Street allowing RiverRenew crews to maintain access to the public right-of-way and Oronoco Bay Park.  As we approach the final phases of construction, our construction footprint will be slightly expanded into Oronoco Bay Park and Pendleton/Union Streets.
