Tasting Room Reopens
After a two-and-half year hiatus, The Tasting Room (1602 King Street) has reopened in Old Town.
The 2,500-square-foot restaurant is owned by Lorien Hotel & Spa, which also owns BRABO (1602 King Street) next door. Both restaurants are run by Executive Chef Fredy Garciaguirre, who was promoted from executive sous chef over the summer.

Speed Limits to be Reduced on some Alexandria Streets
City Manager Jim Parajon approved the board's recommendation to reduce speed limits on two streets as well as implement 15 mph school zone speed limits on five streets throughout Alexandria.

Art on the Avenue
he 27th annual arts festival held in the Del Ray features more than 350 juried artists, from quilters to card-makers to cartographers, displaying their one-of-a-kind wares. Arrive with an appetite and grab a bite from 20+ food vendors and set to the soundtrack of live music along the avenue.
The event will be held on October 1, 2022 from 10 AM - 6 PM. Art on the Avenue takes place on Mount Vernon Avenue, between Hume and Bellefonte Avenues. Parking is extremely limited. Major Blue and Yellow Line Closures
Starting Saturday, September 10, WMATA's Major Blue Line and Yellow Line Construction will rehabilitate the Yellow Line tunnel and bridge between Pentagon and L'Enfant Plaza stations and connect the new Potomac Yard Station to the mainline rail system. During the Potomac Yard prep work, six stations south of Reagan National Airport on the Yellow and Blue lines will be closed from Sept. 10 - Oct. 22, 2022.

Lost Boy Cider is partnering up with Mountain Seed Foundation to raise funds for Ukrainian children. Mountain Seed Foundation was established in 2021 with an aim to help children and their families caught in the war-zones of Europe, particularly in Ukraine. Veteran-led, they understand the traumas youth will endure as a result of war and associated struggles. Mountain-based camps provide an atmosphere carefully designed to heal through art, therapy, skill-building, and mentoring from a team of professionals who volunteer their time.
