Old Town Alexandria Fine Art & Design Festival will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in John Carlyle Square in Alexandria, VA from 11AM – 5PM! This event is free of charge.
The event will welcome over one hundred (100) artisans and crafters, independent consultants, and other local small businesses. From handmade, unique jewelry, to oil and watercolor art, home décor, artisanal items, clothing and accessories, and much more, they bring you an array of locally created products which will certainly help you find the best gifts for Mother’s Day!
Lace up your running shoes for the 2022 PNC Parkway Classic on April 24! The Parkway Classic 5K course now starts and finishes at Oronoco Bay Park with a scenic and one-of-a-kind course through historic Old Town, Alexandria. Meanwhile, the 10-miler starts at George Washington’s Mount Vernon and finishes at Oronoco Bay Park with a scenic point-to-point course down the George Washington Memorial Parkway and through Old Town. Virtual options are available for 5k and 10-miler. The exciting 600-meter Kid's Dash is designed for kids 12 and under (one parent is welcome to run alongside their little ones; no registration required).

The African American Heritage Park is currently closed due to Hooffs Run Interceptor construction. Work began at the Hooffs run site the week of February 28 with crews mobilizing to the African American Heritage Park Construction Staging Area.. Initial activity included establishment of a fence around the site, mobilization of equipment, and site preparation.
