Each year the Carlyle Council is required to survey our employees and residents to see how they commute. This survey is open to those who either live or work in the Carlyle Community of Alexandria. Your responses will tell us how you travel to work so we can better target our programs to encourage you to take public transportation, walk, bike or share a ride, instead of driving alone. Your input is very valuable to the success of Carlyle’s Transportation Management Program (TMP).

Spring2ACTion is coming on April 26th, 2023! We're so excited to get the next Spring2ACTion underway! Our community is better when we give together. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is officially launching an exciting new tool for survivors of online child sexual abuse. The groundbreaking platform, aptly named, Take It Down, allows users from around the world to submit a case to help remove nude, partially nude, or sexually explicit photos and videos depicting a child under 18 years old from the surfaces of participating electronic service providers.

Some machines are so excited for a cleaner Potomac they can get a little loud - that includes Wayne the Crawler Crane’s impact hammer, who will help RiverRenew crews install piles at the Pendleton Street Site which began in February 2023.

The Ballyshaners 40th Alexandria Saint Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, and will feature a Car Show and Dog Show prior to the Parade kick-off. Residents and tourists are encouraged to come early to enjoy the events at one of the DC area’s finest parades. All events are free to the public.

The City is advancing a variety of initiatives to improve transit along the Duke Street corridor. Based on community input and ideas received to date, there are a number of projects underway that address community priorities such as reliable transit, improved safety, and keeping Duke Street moving for all users. Duke Street In Motion is a multi-phased effort focused on ensuring that transit improvements in the Duke Street corridor, from the Landmark Mall area to the King Street Metro Station, provide efficient transportation options that align with the community’s needs, provide efficient transportation choices, and keep the region moving.

In 2023, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) is thrilled to be celebrating 50 years of innovation by remembering the best and brightest moments they’ve created and shared together, while building excitement for all they can accomplish in the next 50 years.

Summer 2023 is getting started with a SPARK! Building Momentum's Innovation Academy camps and classes empower kids to safely and correctly use “grown-up” tools and to stretch their imagination. Kids will engage in hands-on building while improving problem solving and communication, and giving them lifelong skills that can be transferred to any area of their lives.

Spring2ACTion is coming on April 26th, 2023! We're so excited to get the next Spring2ACTion underway! Registration for nonprofits will begin in mid-January so stay tuned for more details.
