Duke Street In Motion
The City is advancing a variety of initiatives to improve transit along the Duke Street corridor. Based on community input and ideas received to date, there are a number of projects underway that address community priorities such as reliable transit, improved safety, and keeping Duke Street moving for all users. Duke Street In Motion is a multi-phased effort focused on ensuring that transit improvements in the Duke Street corridor, from the Landmark Mall area to the King Street Metro Station, provide efficient transportation options that align with the community’s needs, provide efficient transportation choices, and keep the region moving.

Building Momentum's Innovation Academy Camps
Summer 2023 is getting started with a SPARK! Building Momentum's Innovation Academy camps and classes empower kids to safely and correctly use “grown-up” tools and to stretch their imagination. Kids will engage in hands-on building while improving problem solving and communication, and giving them lifelong skills that can be transferred to any area of their lives.

The Alexandria Warehouse Sale will be held on February 4th and 5th, 2023. But instead of taking place in the Westin Alexandria like years prior, it will be spread out in stores, pop-up tents and open retail space along King Streets and select side streets in Old Town Alexandria.

Presidents Day will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 this year. Please note: The tunnel and shuttle will be closed on Monday, February 17 in observance of the Presidents Day holiday.

Major Parades Impacting Traffic December 3rd
Two major parades on Saturday, December 3, 2022, create the foundation of Alexandria’s Biggest Holiday Weekend: the 51st Annual Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade, which kicks off in the morning, and the 22nd Annual Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights sponsored by Amazon, which includes waterfront festivities starting in the afternoon and the parade in the evening.
Children’s Holiday Toy and Gift Card Drive
The Alexandria Domestic Violence Program and Sexual Assault Center are preparing for their annual Children’s Holiday Toy and Gift Card Drive. This event helps make the holiday season a special time for domestic and sexual violence survivors and their children.
They are accepting donations November 14 – December 2 and their office at 123 North Pitt Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
Del Ray Shop Small Crawl

Pedals 'N' Pints
Are you a bicyclist who loves beer and lives in the DMV? Port City has teamed up with their neighbors on Wheeler Avenue, Handy Bikes, to bring you Pedals 'N' Pints SHORT ride on November 12!
Art on the Avenue Rescheduled
Art on the Avenue was postponed and will be held on November 12, 2022 from 10AM to 6PM. The 27th annual arts festival held in the Del Ray features more than 350 juried artists, from quilters to card-makers to cartographers, displaying their one-of-a-kind wares.
Tasting Room Reopens
After a two-and-half year hiatus, The Tasting Room (1602 King Street) has reopened in Old Town.
The 2,500-square-foot restaurant is owned by Lorien Hotel & Spa, which also owns BRABO (1602 King Street) next door. Both restaurants are run by Executive Chef Fredy Garciaguirre, who was promoted from executive sous chef over the summer.
Speed Limits to be Reduced on some Alexandria Streets
City Manager Jim Parajon approved the board's recommendation to reduce speed limits on two streets as well as implement 15 mph school zone speed limits on five streets throughout Alexandria.
