More than 30 craft beers from Virginia breweries are available to sample at Mount Vernon Summerfest from June 10 – June 12. Experience Mount Vernon after-hours and taste craft beers from across the region. Your ticket includes a commemorative tasting cup and 8 tasting tickets. Celebrating the return of Alexandria's outdoor largest free health and wellness festival! This family and pet friendly event takes place in the Del Ray section of Alexandria. The festival features 20 FREE fitness classes (Yoga, Dance, Sound Healing), 75 different health and lifestyle vendors offering demos and sample treatments (health screens, mini massages), healthy food bites, retail, field games, pet activities, a Rock Wall, a DJ and much more! This event is brought to you by the Del Ray Business Association and sponsored by the Jen Walker Team.

Now in its 44th year, the Alexandria Jazz Fest–formerly known as the Memorial Day Jazz Festival–is moving to a new date in 2022. The City of Alexandria is joining with Visit Alexandria to expand the Portside in Old Town Summer Festival to two days, June 17 and 18.

A Taste of Del Ray is planned Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5. Registration costs $5, and attendees will then visit participating restaurants to purchase $5 tastes. The weekend will be preceded by a VIP reception Thursday, June 2 from 6 to 8PM with unlimited tastes from participating restaurants and a wine tasting. The event will happen at Jack Taylor's Alexandria Toyota, 3750 Richmond Highway. Only 100 tickets will be available for the VIP reception, for $50 each.

Mobilization of shaft slurry wall equipment to the Royal Street Site is underway! RiverRenew crews are currently moving equipment from AlexRenew to Royal Street to support the start shaft construction later this month. Ahead of this work, seismographs are being installed along Royal and Fairfax Streets this week. These seismographs are the same instruments used around Pendleton Street to measure potential ground vibrations and support our protection of structures plan. Seismographs will be accompanied by signs explaining their purpose

WMATA has announced large infrastructure work that will again impact the transit connectivity of our City.

In September, the construction of new tracks to connect the future Potomac Yard Station to the mainline tracks will be completed, along with performance and safety testing required prior to the start of service. The station is expected to open this fall.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the interactive fountain at John Carlyle Square Park is waiting on repair parts in order to be turned on. We are hopeful that we will get the necessary repairs completed before July, but we are not able to provide a timeline at this point.

The City of Alexandria is constructing roadway, sidewalk, and bicycle facility improvements along portions of East Eisenhower Avenue between Mill Road and Holland Lane.

The City of Alexandria is seeking public input on the pedestrians’ experience of crossing Eisenhower Avenue adjacent to the Eisenhower Avenue Metrorail Station.

We’re excited to welcome to Carlyle Crossing Wegmans to the Carlyle Community. Wegmans will officially open on May 11, 2022 at 9AM.

Each year the Carlyle Council is required to survey our employees and residents to see how they commute. This year we will be giving away a digital $5.00 gift card to Starbucks for your time to take our commuting survey. The digital gift cards will be emailed out each week from respondents from the week before. The email will be coming from thecarlylecommunity@carlylecouncil.com so be on the lookout!

Old Town Alexandria Fine Art & Design Festival will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in John Carlyle Square in Alexandria, VA from 11AM – 5PM! This event is free of charge.
