53rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Program
Each January, the City of Alexandria continues a long-standing tradition of honoring the life, legacy, and enduring message of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a city-wide memorial program that began in 1973. This community celebration is made possible through the City’s sponsorship in cooperation with local religious, spiritual, civic, and social organizations, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds to reflect, connect, and recommit to Dr. King’s principles of justice, equality, and hope.
The 53rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Program will take place on Thursday, January 15, 2026 starting at 5:30PM at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. The evening celebration will feature uplifting music, inspiring speakers, and opportunities for community engagement. Admission is free, and all are invited to attend and be part of this meaningful tribute.
